Book Review: “The Belle of Belgrave Square” by Mimi Matthews (Belle’s of London #2)

This was a great addition to the Belle’s of London series, which I am loving so far! And for someone who proclaims they are not a fan of overly romantic books this one is so terribly romantic and I devoured it.
This one follows a shy, quiet bookworm of a girl as she is thrust into the marriage season of Victorian London. Julia loves to read and she loves to ride her big black horse, Cossak. I immediately felt a kinship to this fictional woman. I think there are a lot of bookworms out there who will. We would rather be invisible than seen, alone than in a crowd, and would rather spend time with our fictional friends than real people most of the time.
There is always an element of mystery and twist to these novels, and this one didn’t disappoint at all! I figured out part of the mystery of her new husband early, but I did not see the second part that goes with it at all. I couldn’t help loving Captain Blunt and all the love he has for Julia. It was a happily ever after I could definitely get behind. I can’t wait to read the next one in the series!
