Day 9: Reading for pleasure

As an author, it can be a fine line to walk in reading for work and reading for fun. I have been studying the French Revolution so much lately in preparation for writing my next book that every word felt like a task to complete...not exactly relaxing, though not unenjoyable either. But it definitely isn't the same as curling up in bed, setting my little pillow on my lap to prop up my book, and disappearing into the mind and hearts of familiar characters I have come to love as friends and family.

I was into this book right off the bat! It captured my imagination from the first page and held it the entire time. When I finally finished it I was actually sad and now I can't wait for the sequel, Liberte, to come out!

Character Inspiration for “Wayfare Angel”

I started developing Kamlyn Paige and her band of misfit friends back in 2012 before I knew anything about writing or publishing. Now, this Friday May 8th, I am releasing the fourth book in this supernatural thriller series and I am so excited! COVID-19 To-Read List

It's been a while since I posted anything to my blog/website. COVID-19 has shaken up my world as I'm sure it has for all of you as well. There are many terrible things that come with this virus, but one thing that has kept me going each day is keeping my mind focused on the good that is coming out of it as well; communities, states, the nation is coming together. People are actually socializing more than ever before (though at a 6ft distance, I hope). Another positive? As most of you are stuck in your homes with nowhere to go and possibly no work to do, there is more time to make a dent in your To-Read List! I don't know if I've told you or not, but I'm a fiction author (I know, shocking, right?!) So, I thought I would take a moment to share my books with you and hopefully entice you into adding one or two or all of them to your "To-Read during Quarantine" list. I'll also share some things I've read and things that are on my To-Read list as well.
