This was a great addition to the classic and beloved story of “Little Women”. Told from the point of view of Marmee through her diary entries, see the familiar tale through another’s eyes.
It took me a little while to get into the diary form of writing, since I have not read a book like that in a long time. I am the type of person who thrives on dialogue and there was very little of that in this book, but then I fell head over heels for it. I found myself relating so much to Marmee, when I always thought of myself as a Jo. This book has revived my daily practice of reflecting on my day through writing in my diary! Sarah Miller truly brought Marmee to life in an authentic way that did not take away from the original “Little Women” but only added to it. Her research on Louisa May Alcott to write this story was perfection and inspiring.
I highly recommend this for your next holiday read!
