NaNoWriMo Week 1 in Review

I started strong in the first two days, writing more than I needed to for my daily count to get to 50k by the end of November, but then I fell short. I was sick Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with sinus issues from hell. I’m still dealing with it but at least I don’t feel winded when I walk from not being able to breathe out my nose anymore. For my project I am working on “So Over the Undead”, the second novel/novella in my Zooey Zombie series. I’m excited about this project because it’s been a long time since I wrote the first one, like years! And now I have all these good ideas to add to the characters and the story and series. I’m motivated, but at the same time I’m not. Writers, am I right? I want to write, but I also don’t want to write because I’m still feeling so crappy. I don’t want to say the world is out to get me but literally every time I vow to eat healthier and exercise consistently I get super sick almost right away. The first time I came down with Covid, now this sinus thing that won’t leave. Now I’m trying to play catch up in my word count, but I’m failing at that today too because I’m writing this blog instead of my book. I did a little writing earlier today and now I’m about to do 45 minutes more. I’m one of those writers that blows things off until I can’t anymore and then it’s crunch time. That’s when my best work comes out! How is everyone else doing with NaNoWriMo2021? Tell me all about it in the comments!

I did finish reading “The Book of Magic” by Alice Hoffman while I was sick so keep your eyes open for the review coming in the next few days!
